1535nm Long-Range LiDAR
Long Range, Wide Coverage
The Zenmuse L3 achieves a maximum detection range of 950 m at a pulse rate of 100 kHz, tested under ambient light conditions of 100 klx and on objects with 10% reflectivity. The adjustable pulse rate allows for flexible power output and optimal adjustment for various operational scenarios. A typical flight altitude of 300 to 500 m significantly expands the coverage of a single flight and improves mapping efficiency.
Small Spot, High Energy
With a laser beam divergence of 0.25 mrad (1/e²), the spot size at the same distance is about one-fifth that of the Zenmuse L2, enabling the detection of smaller objects such as power lines and tree branches. Higher energy density results in stronger penetration capabilities, significantly increasing point density under vegetation and enabling high-accuracy reconstruction of complex terrain and structures.
High Pulse Rate, Multiple Returns
With a maximum laser pulse emission frequency of 2 million pulses per second and support for up to 16 returns, Zenmuse L3 provides highly accurate spatial reconstruction. Point cloud density and penetration capabilities can be adjusted to meet needs ranging from high-precision mapping to complex environments.

FAQ
Compatible with DJI Matrice 400, and requires the use of a Zenmuse L3 single gimbal connector. Ensure that the gimbal connector is connected to the E1 port on the bottom of the aircraft. Otherwise, mapping accuracy will be reduced.
The Zenmuse L3 can achieve an IP54 rating in accordance with the IEC60529 standard under controlled laboratory conditions. To ensure the highest level of protection:
1. Before installation, ensure that the interface and gimbal surface are dry;
2. Before use, ensure the gimbal is securely attached to the drone and the CFexpress™ card cover is clean, free of foreign objects, and tightly closed;
3. Before opening the CFexpress™ card cover, clean the surface of the drone;
4. The level of protection will decrease over time due to normal device use and wear and tear.

Even with a LiDAR overlap ratio of 20%, you can collect data for digital orthophoto maps (DOM) and digital elevation models (DEM) in a single flight, significantly improving operational efficiency.
It is recommended to use the CFexpress™ Type B memory card (1 TB) included with the Zenmuse L3. This card has been specifically optimized for the unique storage needs of cloud point data, images, and L3 calibration files, ensuring ideal write speeds, power efficiency, and optimal file management.
Using a CFexpress™ card not included in the package may result in slower write speeds or less efficient power management, which could lead to frame loss during operational file storage, thereby affecting the accuracy of the results. When a non-included card is inserted, the application will display a warning message.
To ensure consistent lighting in the final image, each camera uses center-weighted metering to optimize resolution. If the left and right cameras capture scenes with significantly different ambient lighting, there will be a noticeable difference in brightness in the Liveview display.
It is recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 20 m between the L3 and the ground/object. If the distance is too close, the left and right cameras may capture very different angles of the scene, which can cause visible lines of connection in Liveview.
100MP (High Resolution): Provides more pixels and finer image detail, although it requires more storage space. At the same ground sample distance (GSD), it allows for higher flight altitudes and is recommended for operations above 150 m.
25MP (High Sensitivity): Features larger equivalent pixel size, better signal-to-noise ratio, and higher sensitivity. Requires less storage space and, at the same GSD, requires lower flight altitude, making it suitable for operations at or below 150 m.
The Zenmuse L3 single gimbal connector currently only supports the L3. Installing other aerial mapping payloads may result in reduced mapping accuracy. For example, if the Zenmuse H30T is installed, video recordings may experience slight vibrations, which may affect advanced functions such as Smart Track, Aerial Power Line Inspection, and others.
During video recording, only one camera is active. Specifically, when recording video, the RGB camera on the right side (when facing LiDAR) is used.
