The DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral (“P4M”) integrates a powerful 6-band multispectral camera and RTK module to the DJI Phantom 4 drone aircraft, and is a key tool for precision agriculture. The 6 spectrums of light are Red, Green, Blue, Red Edge, Near Infrared, and RGB — with 2-megapixel cameras for each individual band, the P4M is able to capture high resolution multispectral imagery for advanced crop health analysis. An integrated sunlight detection sensor on the top of the drone provides calibration metadata for the images, so that surveys conducted at different times throughout the day have consistent processed data results.
In addition to common indexes for crop health like NDVI and NDRE, the P4M can support development of multispectral indexes for early detection of weeds, pests, and diseases.
Multispectral map data from the P4M can also be provided to DJI Agras spray drones for key applications including variable rate fertilization, and targeted crop protection interventions.
