DJI Zenmuse L2 integrates LiDAR, an in-house developed high-precision IMU system, and an RGB 4/3 CMOS mapping camera, providing more precise, efficient, and reliable geospatial data acquisition.

Integrated LIDAR Solution

DJI Zenmsuse L2 is powered by powerful hardware for precise scanning of complex subjects over a wider range and faster point cloud acquisition. It can be used with DJI Terra for a complete solution of 3D data collection and post-processing with high accuracy.

High Level Precision

It can achieve 4cm vertical accuracy and 5cm horizontal accuracy by combining GNSS and self-developed IMU.

Extraordinary Efficiency

It is ready to work as soon as it is powered on and can collect geospatial and RGB data from an area of 2.5km2 in a single flight.

Intuitive Operation

Together with the Matrice 350 RTK and DJI Terra, the L2 offers a complete solution that is easy to use.

Frame-Based LIDAR

30% Increased Detection Range

The L2 can detect from 250 meters at 10% reflectivity and 100 klx, and up to 450 meters at 50% reflectivity and 0 klx. With a maximum flight altitude of up to 120 meters, the L2 significantly improves safety and operational efficiency.

Smaller Laser Spot, Denser Point Cloud

With a point size reduced to 4×12 cm @100m, just one-fifth that of L1, L2 not only detects smaller objects with more detail, but can also penetrate denser vegetation, resulting in more accurate digital elevation models (DEMs).

Two Scanning Modes

It supports two scanning modes, offering users flexibility based on needs. In repetitive scanning mode, L2 can produce more uniform and accurate point clouds while meeting high-precision mapping requirements. In non-repetitive scanning mode, L2 offers deeper penetration for more structural information, making it suitable for power line inspections, forestry surveys and other scenarios.

Frame-based Design

Generates up to 100% effective point cloud data. Together with the three-axis gimbal, brings more possibilities to survey scenarios.

High-Accuracy IMU System

Enhanced Accuracy

The IMU system is combined with the drone’s RTK positioning system for data fusion during post-processing, resulting in highly accurate position, speed, and altitude information. In addition, environmental adaptability is also enhanced, allowing the L2 to operate reliably and accurately in a variety of environments.

  • Real-time: 0.2°, post-processing: 0.05°
  • Pitch/Roll Accuracy
  • Real-time 0.05°, post-processing 0.025°

 

No IMU Warm-up

The performance of the IMU system has been significantly improved, and it is ready to use upon switch-on. The accompanying drone is ready to start tasks immediately after RTK in FIX status, providing an optimised field experience.

RGB Mapping Camera

4/3 CMOS, Mechanical Shutter

The pixel size on the L2 has been enlarged to 3.3 μm with the effective pixel count reaching 20 MP. This improvement has a significant impact on the overall image quality, as well as producing a more detailed true-colour point cloud.

  • Minimum photo interval 0.7 seconds
  • Shutter count up to 200,000 times, making it more cost-effective
  • If point cloud collection is not required, the RGB camera can still take photos and videos, or collect images for visible light mapping
